You can find us right at Piru Singh Chowk in Yol Cantt. Since we are on the main Dharamshala to Palampur road, there is always some traffic passing by, but inside the gates, it stays pretty calm. Vishwajyoti Senior Secondary has been a part of this community for years. Most of our students come from the local families living around the Cantonment area. It’s a busy spot, and we stay busy too. The school building is older, but it serves us well. We have students ranging from the little ones just starting out to the seniors who are getting ready for their board exams. The teachers here are mostly from around this area, so they know the families well. It’s not a fancy setup, just some plain classrooms and a yard for the kids to run around in. During the monsoons, the mountains look great from our windows, though we have to worry about the roof leaks sometimes. We spend a lot of time on the usual school subjects. Nothing too complicated, just following the syllabus and making sure the kids understand what they are reading. Between the bells ringing and the kids playing at recess, it gets quite noisy. We just try to keep things organized. It is a lot of responsibility looking after so many kids, but it’s what we do here in Yol. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day. Parents stop by the gate for a quick word now and then.
