Rosemary Public School

Rosemary Public School is located out in Haripur, which is a quiet part of Kangra. If you’re looking for us, you’ll find us easily enough because everyone around here knows where the school is. It’s a simple building, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. We’ve got a bit of ground where the kids run around during their break time, though it gets a bit muddy when the rains come. The weather in Kangra can be a bit unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time making sure the roofs aren't leaking and the classrooms stay dry. Most of our staff live nearby, so we’re all part of the same community. You’ll see the kids walking up the road in their uniforms every morning, some of them coming from quite a distance. We don’t have a big fleet of buses or anything like that. It’s a very local affair. The classrooms are basic with wooden desks and chalkboards that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don’t spend much on decorations or flashy signs. The focus is just on the daily lessons and making sure the children are actually learning something useful. Sometimes the goats from the neighbor’s field wander too close to the gate, and we have to shoo them away. It’s just a normal, everyday school in a small town. We open up early and close when the last child has headed home.
