Swami Vivekanand Model School

Down here in Barial, things move at a different pace than the bigger towns in Kangra. Our school is tucked away on the Nandpur Road. If you are coming from the main village post office, it’s just a short trip. The road can get a bit muddy when the rains come, but we manage. Most of our students come from the nearby houses and farms. You see them walking down the road in their uniforms every morning. It’s a simple setup we have here. There is the main building and some space for the kids to run around during their break. We have a few trees that give some nice shade in the afternoons. Sometimes the local goats wander too close to the gate. The staff mostly live nearby, so we all know each other’s families pretty well. It’s a small community. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or anything like that. We mostly use chalk and blackboards. The classrooms are basic, but they do the job. In the summer, the heat can be quite something, so we try to keep the windows open for a breeze. Every day is about the same routine. We ring the bell, the classes start, and we try to get through the lessons. It is just a regular school life in a quiet corner of Himachal. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure the building stays in good shape.
