Shahid Baba Singh Public Senior Secondary School

Our school, Shahid Baba Singh Public Senior Secondary School, sits right on Jassur Road in Barot Banal. Being in Kangra, we have a lot of space around us, which is nice for the older students. We go all the way up to the senior secondary levels, so we have teenagers and younger kids all in the same compound. The building is a bit spread out. We’ve added rooms over the years as more students joined. It’s a busy place from early morning until the afternoon buses leave. The road outside can get a bit loud with trucks, but we are used to it. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have the basics like a small lab and a library that needs more books. The teachers here are hard workers who deal with the heat and the cold just like the students do. We don't put out many flyers or ads. Most people know us because their cousins or neighbors went here. It’s a practical place to get an education. We focus on the exams and making sure everyone passes their grades. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon is heavy, but we fix it when we can. It’s just a regular school life here in Kangra, nothing too special but it's our daily routine. We spend a lot of time cleaning up the leaves from the trees in the yard, but it’s a good environment for the students to focus on their future goals.
