Sri Padmavathi College Of Engineering is located in Mevalurkuppam Village, which is under the Valapuram Post. Being in a village means it’s a lot quieter than the colleges in the middle of Chennai or other big towns. You see a lot of greenery around us, and sometimes you can even hear the goats or cows from the nearby farms if the wind is right. The campus is spread out, and we have plenty of open ground. It’s a simple set of buildings without much fuss or decoration. We focus on keeping the classrooms functional and the labs in working order. The people who work here mostly live in the nearby areas, so there is a local feel to the place. We know the local shopkeepers and the people who drive the buses. It takes a bit of time to get out here from the main highway, but once you arrive, it’s a decent place to spend the day. The classrooms get a lot of natural light, which is nice. We don't have a lot of high-tech gadgets in the hallways, just the basics that are needed for an engineering school. It feels like a very grounded place. We just go about our business, teaching the classes and maintaining the grounds, without making a big deal out of it. It’s a calm environment, which helps when you have to focus on difficult subjects or long exams.
