Sathyabama Engineering College

Sathyabama Engineering College is a big part of the landscape in Sholinganallur. We’re located in Jeppiaar Nagar, Chemmanchery, right along the Old Mammalapuram Road, which everyone just calls OMR. It’s a massive area and there’s always something happening on the campus. Because we’re in the IT corridor, the surroundings are always changing with new buildings and traffic, but the college stays pretty much the same. It’s a place with a lot of history, and you can see that in the older buildings. We have labs for everything from biotech to electronics. The students come from all over India, so the hostels are always full of life. It’s a very busy routine here, with buses lining up in the mornings and students heading off to their different blocks. The canteen is a major hub where you can hear a dozen different conversations at once. We don't go for the polished corporate look; it’s more about the practical side of education and getting through the day’s work. The faculty members are usually buried in research or teaching, and the administrative staff keeps the wheels turning. It’s a lot of ground to cover, and things can get a bit hectic during the exam seasons. We just try to provide a steady place for people to learn their trade and get their degrees without any unnecessary fuss. The salt air from the coast nearby sometimes makes things rust faster, but that's just life on the OMR. We keep moving forward.
