P Govindlal & Co is situated at 27/18, M. M. Avenue. It is a fairly quiet street compared to some of the main roads, which is nice for us. Our office is a bit old-fashioned. We have wooden desks that have been here since the start and rows of filing cabinets that are actually full of paper records. We aren't really into the high-tech way of doing things. We prefer to talk to our clients directly or on the landline. We deal with various goods and trading supplies. It’s a lot of coordination with manufacturers and making sure the shipping schedules match up. Most of the day is spent checking ledgers and making sure the accounts are right. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of employees. It is just a handful of us who have worked together for a long time. We know how each other works, so things go pretty smoothly. There is usually a pot of tea going in the back. M. M. Avenue has some nice trees, and it’s a decent place to spend the day. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been dealing with us for decades. It is a steady business, and we just focus on being reliable. We go home when the work is done, usually around six in the evening. It is a simple life and a simple business.
