Ray Mix Concrete

We are out in Vallam Village at number 178. It is part of the Vallakottai area in Sriperumbudur Taluk. It is a bit out of the way compared to the main city, which is nice in some ways but it makes for a very long drive for some of our drivers. We have the ready-mix plant set up here and you can see the tall towers from the road. The ground is mostly hard-packed dirt and gravel. We spend our days watching the drums spin on the trucks. It is a lot of timing and making sure the water is just right for the mix. Sometimes the heat out here is really something, and we have to keep the trucks moving quickly so the concrete does not set too fast. We have a small crew. Most of us live nearby or in the next village over. We talk about local news while we wait for the next order to come through on the radio. It is not a quiet place, there is always an engine running or a horn blowing somewhere. We do not have any big corporate signs, just the work happening in the yard. People come to us when they are building something in the taluk. It is a practical business and we do not overthink things. We just load the trucks, send them out, and wait for them to come back empty so we can do it again.
