Sri Ganapathy Cement Works

Our workshop is at 8/12 on the OMR in Tiruporur. If you know the OMR, you know it’s a major road with a lot of traffic and big developments happening all the time. We are right in the middle of that energy, though our bit of the road is a bit more grounded. We focus on cement works, which means there is a lot of heavy lifting and manual labor involved in our day. We are usually covered in a bit of dust from the cement bags and the mixing process. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on Tiruporur. We have a small yard where we keep our materials and the finished pieces we’ve made. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but it works for what we need to do. Most of the time, we are just busy with the mixer or moving things onto trucks for delivery. People driving by on the OMR often stop in because they see what we are doing from the road. We don’t have a fancy marketing team or anything; we just rely on people seeing our work and stopping by. It’s a simple setup, just the tools and the materials and us. We’ve been here for a while now and have seen the road change a lot, but we just keep doing our cement work the same way we always have. It’s a living, and it keeps us busy.
