Lamdeng High School

We are tucked away in the Hengrabari part of Guwahati, specifically at House No. 11 G K Villa on Nizarapath. It’s a bit of a winding road to get here through Bortila and Lichubagan, but it’s a quiet spot for a high school. Most of the students live in the nearby lanes, so they just walk or bike over. The building used to be a regular house before it became a place for learning. You can still feel that homey vibe when you walk in. We have classes for the older kids who are getting ready for their board exams. It gets pretty serious around here during February and March. The hallways are narrow, and we’ve had to fit desks in wherever they make sense. We have a small staff who handles everything from the office work to teaching the science labs. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just open the windows and keep going with the natural light. It's not a big institution with fancy gadgets. We just have our books, our blackboards, and the students who show up every day. The neighborhood is mostly families, so everyone knows when the school bell rings. We’ve seen many groups of students pass through these doors over the years, and it's always interesting to see where they end up after they leave Nizarapath.
