Lalgola S. Mrmorial Girls High School

Our school is located in the Lalmati area, specifically on Sonkuchipath near Beharbari Charali. Being so close to National Highway 37 means we are always aware of the big trucks and buses passing by just a short distance away. It’s a busy spot in Basistha Chariali. The school is specifically for girls, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good while. The path leading to the entrance can be a bit dusty in the winter and muddy when the rains come, but that’s just how it is around here. We have a functional building with several floors. The rooms are basic, with enough space for the girls to sit and work comfortably. We don't have any luxury facilities. Everything is chosen because it lasts and it's useful. In the afternoons, you can see the students walking in groups towards the main road to catch their buses home. The teachers here are mostly local women who understand the challenges of the area. We have a small office where we keep the records in big steel cabinets. There’s no fancy lobby or air-conditioned waiting room. If a parent comes by, we pull up a chair and talk. It’s a straightforward environment. We just want to make sure the girls get their lessons done and have a safe place to be during the day. It is a simple place for education.
