Lalita Public School is tucked away in Bakrapara, which is part of the Basistha Chariali area. It’s a neighborhood where people know their neighbors, and our school is right in the thick of it. The building is a simple one, nothing that would stand out from the street if you weren't looking for it. We have a gate that creaks a little when you open it, and a small area out front where the kids gather before the first bell. The classrooms are a bit tight, but we make it work. We have fans in every room, though they struggle a bit when the humidity really peaks in August. Most of our furniture is made of wood and metal, built to withstand years of kids sitting on it. We don't use any fancy teaching gadgets; we stick to the basics of books and conversation. The staff room is a small space where we keep our bags and eat our lunch together. We talk about the local news or the price of vegetables in the market. It’s a very human place. We don't try to impress anyone with big words or polished posters. We are just here to provide a place for the local kids to come and learn. When the school day ends, the noise level drops, and we lock up the gate until the next morning. It’s a quiet, steady rhythm that we’ve followed for years.
