Lahing Girls High School

We are located in a bit of an unusual spot, being on the third floor of the Kaziranga Apartment. It is in By Lane Number 4, which is just off the Tinali Pandu Port Road in the Adabari area of Guwahati. Being in an apartment building means we don't have a big yard or a separate gate. You have to walk up the stairs to reach the classrooms. The 781012 area is mostly residential, so we have neighbors all around us. Since it’s a girls' high school, the hallways get pretty crowded during the breaks between classes. We’ve divided the space into several rooms to make it work. It’s not a huge school, but it serves the community well. The third-floor location gives us a bit of a view of the surrounding rooftops. We have the standard wooden benches and desks that have been used by many students over the years. The walls have a few charts and maps pinned up. It’s a modest setup, but it’s where we do our work every day. Sometimes the climb up those three flights of stairs feels long, especially in the heat, but it’s just part of the routine for the staff and the students. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite a while now. People know to look for the sign on the apartment building. It’s a simple, honest place for education without any unnecessary extras or fancy gadgets. We just keep to our daily schedule.
