Lajpat Public School

Lajpat Public School is located in Kahikuchi which is part of the Borjhar area right by the Guwahati Airport. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the middle of the city though the airport noise is always there in the background. We have been here for a while and we have a good number of students from the surrounding villages and neighborhoods. The school is not a massive place with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a practical building with classrooms where we spend our days teaching. We do not use big words to describe what we do here. We just provide a place for kids to come and learn their subjects so they can have a better chance later on. The teachers are locals and we all know each other pretty well by now. We spend a lot of time grading papers and planning for the next week's classes. It is not glamorous work but it is important for the families around Kahikuchi. We try to keep the school grounds tidy and make sure the kids are behaving themselves during the breaks. There is no complicated management structure here. If a parent has a question they just come to the office and talk to us directly. We like keeping things simple and direct because it saves everyone a lot of time and avoids unnecessary confusion in the long run.
