About Sv Vidyaranya Swamy School – Education in Kalaburagi
Our school, Sv Vidyaranya Swamy School, is situated in Shahapur, which is part of the Yadgir district. It’s a quiet enough place most of the time, except when the school bell goes off. The building is simple, painted in plain colors, and sits on a plot of land where we have some space for the children to run around. Being in Yadgir, it gets really hot during the middle of the year, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as possible with the ceiling fans. The students come from the local families around Shahapur. Some walk, some come on cycles. You can see the cycles lined up neatly near the entrance every morning. We have teachers who have grown up in this same area, so there is a lot of familiarity between everyone. The desks are lined up in rows, and we use chalk and talk mostly. It’s a very practical way of doing things. Sometimes we have a bit of a mess in the corridors after lunch, but the staff clears it up. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment, but we make sure the kids have their books and their pens ready. Life here moves at a steady pace. We don't rush things too much. It’s just about getting the daily lessons done and making sure the students understand what’s being taught. That’s what we do here in Shahapur without any big fuss.
