About Government Higt School – Education in Kalaburagi
This is the government school out in Allur B, which is part of the Sahiya area in Gulbarga. It’s a pretty rural spot, so things are a bit different here than in the big cities. The building is basic, made of stone and concrete, and it’s seen a lot of seasons over the years. We get a lot of heat in Gulbarga, so we try to keep the windows open for whatever breeze comes through. The students come from the surrounding farms and villages, some walking quite a distance across the fields to get here. There isn't any fancy equipment or high-tech stuff in the rooms. We use chalkboards and old wooden benches that have been around since before some of us started working here. The daily routine is very fixed. We start early before the sun gets too high and heavy in the sky. Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours, but we just keep going with the lessons anyway since we don't need much electricity to talk and write. It’s a government-run place, so we follow the standard rules and do what we can with the supplies we get each term. The staff is small, and we all know each other pretty well. We spend our lunch breaks sitting under the trees out back where it's a bit cooler. It’s a quiet life in Allur B, and the school is just a part of that landscape. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just make sure the doors are open every morning.
