Gayathri School

Gayathri School is situated on Palace Road in Shorapur. It’s an interesting part of town with a bit of history to it. Our building isn't a palace, though. It’s a practical space that we’ve adapted over the years to fit more students. The rooms are a bit small, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time moving benches around to get the best fit. Since we are on Palace Road, it’s easy for people to find us. We don't have a big sign with lights. Most people just recognize the gate. The staff here has been together for a long time. We know each other's families and the families of the kids who come here. It makes for a very grounded atmosphere. We don't follow any corporate manuals. We just deal with things as they come up. If a roof leaks, we fix it. If a kid loses a book, we help them find it. It’s a very human way of doing things. The playground is just a cleared patch of ground where the kids play tag. It gets dusty in the summer, but they don't seem to mind. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy gadgets. We just provide a place for the local children to come and learn their daily subjects. It’s a simple life and we like it that way.
