S. Radha Krishnan Muncipal School (Sappa Vari School)

Located at 36-41-46 in Innispeta, most people around Rajahmundry just call us the Sappa Vari School. Being a municipal school, we are right in the heart of the city's activity. The streets around here are always busy with traffic and people going to work. Inside the school gates, it's a different kind of busy. We have a lot of students coming from the nearby blocks. The building shows its age in places, with some cracks in the plaster and paint that has faded under the hot sun. We spend our mornings getting the classes ready and making sure the midday meals are organized for the children. It gets quite loud during the break times when everyone is out in the corridors or in the small yard. We have a lot of paperwork to keep up with, as is the case with any government-related school. The teachers are usually seen carrying stacks of notebooks across the yard to the staff room. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the breeze and the ceiling fans to stay cool. Sometimes when it rains heavily, we have to watch for leaks in the older parts of the roof. It’s a practical place. We focus on the basics and make sure every child has a seat in the room. It's about getting the job done every day for the community here in Rajahmundry. There's always a hum of activity until the final bell rings in the late afternoon.
