Down here in Bhesan, things move at a bit of a different pace. Shatrabhuj Farmer Producer Company Limited is located at the Shri. Seva Sahakari Mandli, right there with Pramukhtaluka in the Junagadh district. We are basically a collection of farmers from around the area who realized we could do more if we put our heads together. Our office is a simple spot where we handle the administrative stuff that comes with running a producer company. It’s not anything special to look at, but it serves us well for our meetings. Junagadh is a good place for farming, but the challenges are always there. Whether it’s the cost of diesel or finding enough hands at harvest time, we try to help each other out. We handle the collection of crops and try to find the right buyers so no one gets left behind. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy, but we get through it. We aren't some distant corporate entity. We are the same people you see in the market every day. We know the land and we know how much sweat goes into every bag of grain. There aren't any shortcuts in this business, so we just stick to the basics and try to make sure everyone in our group gets a fair deal for their hard work in the fields.
