Sasan Gir Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started this farmer group right here in the Maliya Hatina area, just a short walk from the Everest School. It’s mostly folks from around Jalaram Plot Street Road who got tired of dealing with middlemen all the time. Sasan Gir is our home, and farming is all we really know how to do. Zahidaben A. Samnani lets us use the space here for coordinating things. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a room where we keep our records and meet up to talk about the crops. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should, and other times the prices in the market are just too low to make sense. That’s why we put this company together. We wanted to see if working as a group would make things a little easier for the small farmers around here. We deal with whatever is growing in the fields nearby. It is a lot of work and some days are better than others. Most of the time we are just busy with the daily stuff, trying to figure out how to get the harvest moved without losing money. You can find us near the school if you are looking for the place. We don't have a big sign or anything, but everyone in the neighborhood knows where Zahidaben’s house is. It’s a quiet spot, and we like it that way. Just regular people trying to make a living from the land.
