You can find us over at Revenue Survey No. 351 in the Gam Vistar area of Maliya Hatina. This is Ozat Farmers Producer Company Limited. Like many others in the Junagadh district, our lives are tied to the land in Lathodra. We are a group of people who decided that working together was better than trying to do everything alone. It’s a producer company, which basically means we are a bunch of farmers looking after our own interests and the interests of our neighbors. Our office is right there in the village, nothing fancy at all. We spend a lot of time talking about soil, water, and whatever the current season is bringing. It’s a very hands-on way to live. There are days when everything feels like a struggle, especially with the costs of things going up, but we manage. We aren’t interested in those big corporate ways of doing things. We prefer to keep our talk simple and our work direct. Being based in Magrol gives us a good connection to the local markets and other farmers around here. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. It’s about the community in Lathodra more than anything else. We stay busy with the paperwork and the physical labor that comes with running a producer group in rural Gujarat. It is just plain and honest work.
