Sukafa Farmer Producer Company Limited is our small group here, and Arup Kr Deka is the one who keeps us all in line. We do not have a big fancy building, just a workspace where we get together to figure out the farming business. We are a producer company, which means we are just farmers trying to act like a business so we can get better deals on things. It is a lot of work on top of the actual farming we do every day. We are not city people with suits; we are the ones out in the heat every day. Most of us have been doing this since we were boys, following our fathers into the fields. We do not have a polished story to tell. We just plant the seeds, hope for rain, and try to sell what grows. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't. Being together in this company helps us feel a bit more secure. We share what we know and help out if someone’s tractor breaks down or if they are short-handed. It is about the community and making sure we can all stay on our land. We do not have any big goals of taking over the world. We just want to be able to pay the bills and keep our families healthy. It is a simple, tough life, but it is ours and we are proud of it in our own way.
