We are based at Borbam Chungi in the Jorhat district. Rogho Gowalla is the one whose name is on the address, and he’s a big part of what we do here. Chungi Tea Farmer Producer Company Limited was set up because tea is what we know. In this part of Jorhat, tea is everywhere. Small growers like us often have a hard time getting a fair price from the big factories. So, we decided to come together. It’s a lot of work. Plucking the leaves is just the start. Then you have to worry about the transport and the quality. We aren't a big plantation with fancy offices. We are just regular people with some tea bushes and a lot of determination. Our post office is Chungi, 785616. Most of our days are spent in the gardens. We talk about the weather and the pests. Sometimes the rain is too much, sometimes not enough. We don't use big words or have complicated plans. We just want to grow good tea and make sure our families are taken care of. It’s a slow life but a busy one. There’s always something to do in a tea garden. We help each other out when someone falls behind. It’s just the way it works in Borbam Chungi. We’re proud of what we grow here and how we do it together as a small group.
