Mahalaxmi Agro Industries

Working out of Marwari Patti in the Jorhat district keeps us on our toes. Mahalaxmi Agro Industries is located right near the Auto Hotel, which is a busy landmark for anyone trying to find us. Our days are mostly filled with the sounds of heavy bags being moved and trucks pulling in and out of the yard. It’s an industrial sort of life, focusing on agricultural products and getting things processed. There is always a bit of mud on the floor and the smell of raw produce in the air. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; we’re mostly out where the work is happening. The weather here in Jorhat can be unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything stays dry under the roof. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of inventory. We have a small crew and we all know our jobs well. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a load or get a shipment ready for the next morning. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean, but it’s honest work. We deal with farmers and transporters every day. Each season brings different items and different challenges for us to deal with. We just focus on the task in front of us and keep the machinery running as smoothly as we can manage. It is a long day but the work gets done.
