Saraswati Art Palace

Our workshop is over in the Boranada Industrial Area, specifically at E-340/341 in Phase III. It’s an industrial part of town, so there is always a lot of noise and dust around, but that’s where the work happens. Saraswati Art Palace is basically where we spend most of our lives. It’s a big space because we need room for the materials and the tools. Some days the floor is covered in wood shavings or metal scraps, depending on what we are making. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning and soft music. It’s more of a practical place where people are busy moving stuff around and checking on orders. We have been in this spot for a while now and we know all the neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out or the delivery trucks get stuck, but we manage. We aren't really office people. We prefer being out where the things are actually being built. It gets pretty hot in the summer out here in the RIICO area, but we’ve got some big fans that help a bit. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to talk much to know what needs doing next. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure everything leaving the door is decent. It’s simple work, really, and we take it one day at a time without any fuss or complicated plans.
