R. K. Crafts

Our workshop is located at 19 Udyog Nagar on Road No. 10, over in Basni II Phase. It’s an industrial part of town, so there’s always the sound of machines and trucks moving in the background. At R. K. Crafts, things are usually a bit dusty because of all the wood and materials we work with every single day. We don’t have a fancy showroom with glass windows or polished floors. It’s more of a place where we actually make things with our hands. You’ll see sawdust on the floor and tools scattered on the workbenches most days. We try to tidy up every Saturday afternoon, but by Monday afternoon, it’s back to being a mess again. That’s just the nature of craft work, I suppose. The guys here have been working with their hands for a long time, so there’s a lot of skill involved even if we don't talk about it much. We just focus on getting the pieces finished so they can be sent out to the people who ordered them. The heat in the summer can be really tough in this part of Basni, especially when the tin roof gets hot. We take breaks when we have to and keep the water cooler filled up with ice. It’s honest work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or polished brochures. We just want to make sure the stuff we build is solid and does exactly what it’s supposed to do for a long time.
