Popular Handicrafts is based at 66-67, Gayatri Nagar, right by Pal Balaji on Pal Road. It’s a decent-sized space where we keep all the things we make and collect. It’s usually a bit of a mess because there’s always something being unpacked or wrapped up for shipping. We’ve been on Pal Road for a few years now. The name "Popular" was already on the sign when we took over, so we just kept it. We don't have a showroom with fancy lights. It’s more like a workshop that happens to sell things. We have a lot of different handicrafts, mostly wood and metal stuff. You’ll see us covered in sawdust most afternoons. We don't really have a set schedule; we work until the day's tasks are done. Sometimes that’s early, sometimes it’s late at night. We don't use a lot of big machinery, just a few basic tools and our hands. It’s quiet work, which is nice. Our neighbors in Gayatri Nagar are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other. We don't do much marketing. People just see the sign or hear about us from a friend. We try to keep the prices fair and make sure the things look right before they go out. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, to keep the shop running.
