We are located in the 3rd Phase of the Boranada Industrial Area in Jodhpur. Pearl Art Exports has a fairly large shed here. Jodhpur is very well known for this kind of handicraft work, and Boranada is where a lot of the actual manufacturing happens. It’s a very dry and dusty place, especially when the Rajasthan wind picks up in the afternoons. Our building is just a big open space with different sections set aside for different tasks. We have people working on the finishing, some on the packing, and others who just check the items for any cracks or mistakes. It’s a lot of manual labor and it can be tiring. We don't have a fancy showroom for visitors to look at. If you come here, you’ll just see people in their regular work clothes and lots of wooden crates waiting to be moved out. We get all our materials from local suppliers we have known for years. We spend a lot of time making sure things are done the right way before they leave. It’s not always easy and sometimes the deadlines are very tight. We have a small office tucked away in one corner where we handle the export documents and the phone calls. It’s usually cluttered with files and little samples. We drink our tea outside in the shade when the sun isn't too hot. It is just our life.
