Pacific Handicraft

Our place is called Pacific Handicraft, and we are located in Tulsi-Sadan on 10th C Road. Sardarpura is a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside. The building is an old residential-style place we’ve converted for our work. We use the rooms to store different types of wood and stone carvings. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the crates. Most of the day is spent wrapping items in bubble wrap and newspaper so they don't break during shipping. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address 580B on the gate. The family has been doing this for a long time. We don't really bother with fancy catalogs or anything like that. If someone wants to see what we have, they just come over and we show them what's in the current stock. Sometimes we have a lot of items, other times the shelves are almost empty because a big order just went out. The weather here gets incredibly hot, so we do most of our heavy work in the early morning. By afternoon, we’re usually just sitting in the shade of the porch, drinking cold water and checking the inventory lists. It’s a slow pace, but it suits us just fine. We just try to keep the crafts moving and the customers happy.
