Neelkamal Handicrafts

Neelkamal Handicrafts is located at S-3 in the Commercial Complex over on Road No. 8 in Basni Phase II. Being in Jodhpur, it gets incredibly hot, especially in an industrial area like this. The complex is always humming with the sound of trucks and other businesses doing their thing. Our space is mostly taken up by the stock we have on hand. There’s a lot of dust because of the location, so we’re always wiping down the desks and the items we’re working with. We have a small office area partitioned off where we keep the computer and the files. It isn't a very large operation, just a few of us making sure everything is moving along as it should. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to the workers who bring the goods in. The stairs up to our unit are a bit steep, so we’ve gotten used to the climb every morning. We usually take a long break in the middle of the day when the heat is at its worst. There’s no fancy furniture here, just some metal racks and a few sturdy wooden tables. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do every day. We’ve been in Basni for years and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit, but we’re still here.
