Maharani Art Emporium

We have been running Maharani Art Emporium for quite a few years now. Our place is situated near the Circuit House, right on Umaid Bhawan Palace Road. It’s a spot that sees a lot of people passing by, especially those heading up to see the palace. We usually open the doors early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. The first thing we do is get the dust off the pieces we have on display. Living in this part of the country means dust is just a part of life you can't escape. We don't have a big staff or a fancy management system. It is mostly just us handling the day-to-day things. People walk in after their tours, looking for something to take back. We don't do any high-pressure sales stuff. We just let them walk around and look at the art. If they have a question, we answer it. Some days are really quiet and we just sit near the entrance watching the cars go by. Other days, we are busy wrapping things up in newspapers and boxes. The building itself is old. We don't spend much on advertising or anything like that. Most people find us because they are already on the road. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the sun to go down so we can head home. That is about it.
