Living Tradition

Our shop is right by Sanis Char Ji Ka Than on Chopasni Road. If you know Jodhpur, you know how busy this stretch can get with all the traffic and people moving about. We’ve been here for a while, focusing on the kind of things that keep our local traditions going. It’s mostly furniture and some decor pieces that have that old-school feel. We aren't a big showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a workshop and storage space where you can actually see the wood and the dust. The guys working here have been doing this for years. They know their way around the materials. We spend our mornings checking the new pieces and the afternoons usually involve a lot of packing because things need to go out. It gets quite hot in the summers, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. People stop by often just to see what’s new or to ask about a specific design they saw somewhere. We don't really do much advertising. Most people find us because they were passing by or someone told them about our spot near the Than. It is a simple business. We like the smell of the wood and the sound of the tools. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that is just how it goes when you are actually making things by hand. Our family has lived in this area for generations, and we just wanted to keep the craft alive without making it too complicated or corporate.
