We are situated right in the Handicraft Market, just opposite the road that leads to Umaid Bhawan Palace. It’s a prime spot, but that also means it stays quite busy with tourists and locals walking through all the time. Our shop is packed tight with all sorts of things we’ve made. There isn’t much room to walk around once you get inside. We have things stacked on shelves and sometimes even on the floor if we run out of space. Most of the people working here have grown up around this market. It’s a way of life more than just a job for us. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is just old-fashioned hand tools and a lot of sitting on the floor. The air usually smells like wood shavings and polish. It can get a little dusty when the wind blows through the market doors. We don't have a website that gets updated or any of that. If someone wants to know what we have, they usually just walk in and ask. We talk to people, show them what we're working on, and that’s about it. It’s a relaxed environment, even when we have a lot of orders to fill. We just keep at it, one piece at a time, making sure things look the way they are supposed to before they leave the shop. It is what it is.
