We operate out of E-5 in Shastri Nagar. It is a residential area mostly, so it stays a bit quieter than the main markets, which is nice when we are trying to focus on the crafts. Our space is usually overflowing with materials like beads, fabric scraps, and whatever else we are working with at the moment. There isn’t a huge sign outside, just our address on the gate. Most of the people who come by are folks from the neighborhood or delivery drivers picking up boxes. We spend a lot of time at the big work table in the center of the room. It has marks and scratches all over it from years of use. Sometimes the neighbor’s cat wanders in through the front door if we leave it open for some air. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. Lunch is usually eaten right there at the desk while checking through orders. We try to keep things organized, but when we get a lot of work at once, the boxes start piling up towards the ceiling. It feels more like a workshop than a store. By the end of the day, the floor is covered in little bits of thread and paper. We just sweep it up and get ready to do it all again the next morning. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy enough.
