Jodhpur Crafts Pvt. Ltd. is right here on Residency Road at number 628. It gets pretty dusty around here sometimes, but we’ve been at this spot for quite a while now. Most days start with a cup of tea before we get into the workshop to see what needs doing. We make furniture and other things out of wood. It is noisy because of the saws and sanding machines, and there is usually a thin layer of sawdust on everything by lunch. People stop by the shop often just to see what we are working on today. The sun hits the front door hard in the afternoons, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We aren't a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get our hands dirty making things that people actually use in their houses. Sometimes a truck comes by to load up crates, and we have to clear the space on the sidewalk. Jodhpur is a hot place, especially in the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the work. We don’t spend much time on computers. Most of our day is spent handling the wood, checking the joints, and making sure things are sturdy. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the city buildings.
