Our place is at 11-A on Palace Road, right in the middle of the whole-sale handicrafts market. It’s a very lively spot to be in because there are always people moving things in and out. Jain Art Overseas is basically a workshop and a small storage area where we keep all the pieces we’ve collected or made. The market is always buzzing with activity, so there is never a quiet moment during the day. We spend most of our time unpacking new arrivals or checking items for any scratches or breaks. It’s a bit messy here with all the bubble wrap and tape dispensers lying around on the tables. We don’t really have a fancy front office; you just walk in and you’re right in the middle of the inventory. We’ve been part of this market for a while, and we know most of the other folks working on this street. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s not too hot just to watch the world go by. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just like what we do and we try to keep the business steady. Every piece we handle has a bit of dust on it until we give it a good wipe down. It’s just honest work in a busy market, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep at it.
