Gayatri Art Palace

We are located at A-8, right across from the K.N. Girls College in Raika Bagh. It’s a pretty easy place to find because the college is a big landmark for everyone around here. We’ve been here for quite a while now, operating out of this older building. Inside, the rooms are packed with various art pieces and items we have collected over the years. It is definitely not a polished gallery like you might find in a big city. There are things sitting on the floor and stacked in corners. We don't really have a perfect system for where everything goes. Usually, we are just sitting out front on some plastic chairs, watching the students and the buses go by. The sun can be quite strong in Jodhpur, so we spend a lot of time in the shade of the porch. We don’t really do any formal marketing. If someone walks in and likes an item, we talk about it then. It is a very relaxed way to run a business. The noise from the street is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We keep our doors open to let the breeze in, even if it brings a bit of sand with it. It’s just a small family-run operation. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who manage the daily chores and look after the place. We keep the inventory mostly in the back.
