Up here at 196-B, Subhash Chowk, things are usually moving pretty fast. Ratanada is a busy place to be. Our space is tucked in there and it’s full of all sorts of items we’ve gathered or made. There’s usually a bit of dust because we’re always moving stuff around. We don’t really have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, one of us just wipes our hands and comes to the front. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we first set up shop. New places open up and old ones close down, but we’re still here in our same spot. It’s a bit cramped inside if I’m being honest. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling and sometimes finding a specific item takes a minute. My coffee usually gets cold before I finish it because there’s always something to fix or a package to wrap up. We use the back alley for deliveries and it’s always a bit of a squeeze for the trucks. It’s just how it is. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just like being in Subhash Chowk and doing our work. It’s a decent living and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of our regulars know exactly where to find us behind the main row of shops.
