I’ve been working out here at Basni 2nd Phase for a long time now. The workshop at Bansal Art Exports is usually pretty loud because of all the tools going at once. It’s a bit dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the M.I.A. area, but we get used to it. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. We spend a lot of time checking on the pieces coming through the line. Sometimes things get backed up when a machine breaks or a shipment of wood is late, but that’s just how it goes in this business. Our address is 1099/140/1, and it’s not hard to find if you know where the main landmarks are in Basni. There’s always a few trucks parked outside waiting to be loaded. We try to keep things moving so the floor doesn't get too cluttered. It’s hard work, and the guys are usually pretty tired by the time they head home. I usually sit in the small office area trying to keep the paperwork from flying away when the fan is on. We aren't a big fancy operation, just a lot of people doing their jobs every day. Some of the stuff we make ends up going pretty far away, which is interesting to think about. We just focus on getting the current batch done right so we can move on to the next one without too much trouble.
