Harvansh Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in village Bhatarwara. This is in the Garotha area of Jhansi. We work out of a space that belongs to Rammurti. Being in a village like Bhatarwara means we are right where the farming actually happens. We aren't sitting in some high-rise building in a city. Most of our members are local farmers from around here. We started this company to help everyone get a better handle on their produce. Jhansi is a tough place for farming sometimes because the ground is hard and the water isn't always there. But we make do. We meet up often to talk about prices and what crops to plant next. It’s not always organized perfectly. Sometimes meetings take longer than they should because everyone wants to have their say. But that’s how a producer company works. We’re just a bunch of neighbors trying to pool our resources. We don't have any big slogans or shiny brochures. We just have our crops and our tractors. The office is just a room where we keep our ledgers and some tools. It’s humble, but it serves our purpose. Life in the village is quiet, but there's always something to do in the fields. We’re just trying to make sure our families and our community can keep going. The winters in Jhansi can be quite chilly, and we often sit around a small fire outside the office while we wait for the trucks to arrive. It’s during those times that we have the best conversations about the village and how things are changing.
