Gursraiagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Asta, near Garautha in the Jhansi district. We run things from Om Prakash’s place. It is a simple setup because we are mostly busy with our land. Farming in this part of the country takes a lot out of you, but we’ve been doing it since we were kids. We decided to come together as a group because it makes sense to help each other out. Dealing with markets and seeds is easier when you aren't doing it by yourself. You can find us in Asta most days, either in the fields or near the house. It's a local thing, run by people who actually live here and know the soil. We don’t use big words or have meetings in glass buildings. Our meetings usually happen under a tree or on someone’s porch. We talk about what to plant and when to sell. It gets hot out here in Garautha, but the work doesn't stop. People around here know Om Prakash, so that’s where we keep our address. We are just trying to keep the farming tradition going while making sure we can actually make a living from it. It's not always easy, but having this company helps us stay organized. We focus on the daily tasks, looking after the crops and making sure things are moving. It’s a local effort through and through, and we are glad to be part of the community here in this corner of Jhansi.
