If you’re looking for us, we’re located at Sunil Kumar’s place in Farmana Khas. Sunil is Om Parkash’s son, and his house has become the main hub for Baba Hari Dobha Farmer Producer Companylimited. Being in the Meham tehsil, we are right in the middle of a lot of farming activity. This isn’t a corporate office with glass walls or anything. It’s just a regular village home where we’ve set up a space to handle the company business. We mostly sit out in the courtyard when the weather is nice to talk about the crops and the prices. The village of Farmana Khas is pretty tight-knit, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing anyway. We started this because we wanted a way for the local farmers to work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It’s been a learning process, and we’ve made our fair share of mistakes with the paperwork. But we’re getting the hang of it. We deal with whatever the farmers bring to us, whether it’s wheat or mustard or whatever else is in season. There’s always someone coming by to ask for advice or just to sit for a bit. We don’t have any big brochures or fancy websites. We just do the work that’s in front of us and try to make sure things run as smoothly as they can in a busy farming village. It is a slow process but we like it.
