Gubhana Young Producer Company Limited is run by a group of us here in Village Gubhana. Our main spot is at house number 354. Jhajjar is where we live and work, and it is a place where everyone knows everyone else. We started this because we wanted to do things a bit differently as a younger generation of farmers. It is not about being fancy, just about making sure we can sustain our families. The office is really just a room where we keep our books and meet up after being out in the fields. Sometimes we meet under the big tree outside when it is too hot indoors. We deal with the day-to-day stuff like getting supplies and figuring out where to sell our harvest. It is a lot of physical work and sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we manage. Being in a small village means we do not have the distractions of the big city. We focus on the land and what it gives us. The soil here in Haryana is good if you treat it right. We spend a lot of time talking to the older folks too, because they know things we do not. It is a mix of their experience and our new ideas. We do not have a big marketing budget or anything, just our reputation in the village. If you come by Gubhana, just ask for the producer group and someone will point you to 354. It is where we usually are.
