We know every farmer in this area by name. Some of us grew up together, and now we are trying to manage the business side of our crops together. It’s a lot of talk about fertilizer, seasons, and who has the best yield this year. We don't have a secretary or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever is sitting there. Usually, there is a lot of paper stacked up on the wooden tables and maybe a few samples of grain. Budheri is a quiet place except for when the buses come through, and we like it that way. We started this because we were tired of being told what to do by people who have never stepped foot on a farm. Here, we make our own decisions. It’s not a perfect system, and we make mistakes like anyone else, but we are doing it for ourselves and our neighbors. That is the main thing that matters to us at the end of the day.
