We are based at L4-14 in the Tube Colony over in Baridih. Jamshedpur is a big industrial city, but our little corner in Jharkhand feels a bit more like a neighborhood. The office is situated in a place that has a lot of history with the company and the families who live around here. It is not the kind of place where you see glass elevators or fancy carpets. Instead, we have solid floors and windows that let in the light and sometimes a bit too much of the outside heat. We spend our days coordinating things, checking on orders, and making sure the paperwork is sorted out properly. It is steady work, nothing too exciting, but it is important to keep things moving. We know the people who live nearby, and there is a sense of community that you do not get in those big city high-rises. In the mornings, you can hear the birds before the traffic picks up, and we usually start the day with a cup of strong tea while we go over what needs to be done. We do not have a corporate handbook telling us how to smile; we just treat people fairly and get on with our jobs. It is a practical way of living and working. We are just regular people in a regular colony, doing our bit for the steel industry without making a big deal out of it.
