Tata Steel Growth Shop

You can find the growth shop right on the main road in Bistupur. It is a place where we focus on the mechanical and fabrication side of things. Unlike the main production lines, we deal with more specific parts and building the tools the other sections need. The workshop floor is always busy with the sound of grinding and cutting. We have some pretty large machines in here that can be intimidating if you aren't used to them. It’s a practical space, full of scrap metal and half-finished projects. We don't really do much in the way of decoration. The walls are mostly covered in tool racks and safety notices. Being on the main road means it’s easy for trucks to get to us, though traffic can be a nightmare in the afternoons. We have a crew that has been doing this for decades. They know how to fix things that seem impossible to everyone else. We don't have a fancy lobby or any marketing people walking around. It’s just engineers and technicians trying to get the dimensions right. Sometimes we stay late when a project is behind, but that’s just how it goes in a shop like this. We just keep our heads down and focus on the metal. It’s about making things that last and work the way they were intended to.
