Tata Steel

Tata Steel is located at L- 2 No. 57 on Kulsi Road in Sakchi. This isn't a fancy office with carpets. It's more of a functional space where we handle the day-to-day business of steel. Sakchi is a very busy commercial area, and Kulsi Road sees a lot of truck movement. We spend a lot of time dealing with orders and checking the inventory in the yard. The smell of metal and the sound of heavy loaders is just part of the atmosphere here. We have a small desk for paperwork, but mostly we are on our feet. The heat can be quite intense in the summer, especially with all the metal around. We wear heavy boots and stay mindful of the equipment moving around. It’s a lot of coordination to make sure the right loads go to the right places. Sometimes the traffic in Sakchi makes it hard for deliveries to arrive on time, so we have to manage the schedule carefully. We aren't doing anything fancy or complicated. It’s just about getting the steel where it needs to go. We’ve been at this L-2 location for a while, and the routine stays pretty much the same. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We close up when the gates at the yard shut for the night. There is always more to move the next morning when the sun comes up again over Kulsi Road.
