Being located at 22/H6 on Chenab Road puts us right in the thick of things in Sakchi. Jamshedpur is a busy place and this part of town is usually loud with traffic and people moving about. Tata Steel Ltd has its roots deep in this soil. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just show up, handle the steel, and go home. The office here isn't one of those glass towers you see in the movies. It is a practical space where we deal with the day-to-day stuff that comes with running a massive operation. The walls have been painted a few times but you can still feel the history. People think steel is just about fire and metal, but it is also about these little rooms and the people sitting in them. Jharkhand gets really hot in the summer and we just drink a lot of water and keep the files moving. Sakchi is the heart of the city and we feel that every morning when the shifts change. There is always a truck idling somewhere or someone shouting about a delivery. It is a bit chaotic but it works for us. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just make the steel and try to stay on top of the schedule. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way for a very long time now.
