Tata Steel Ltd

We are over here at 15-Kd Flat in Kadma. It is a quiet enough spot in Jamshedpur where a lot of us end up living while we work at the plant. Tata Steel Ltd has been the center of everything around here for as long as anyone can remember. My grandfather worked here and now I’m doing the same thing. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. You can hear the sounds from the works if the wind is blowing the right way. It’s not fancy or anything, just a lot of steel and hard work. The flats are old but they hold up. We spend a lot of time just keeping things moving. Sometimes the logistics get messy but we figure it out. It’s a company town through and through. You see the same faces at the market and then again at the gate. We don't really do much talking about big ideas, we just focus on the orders and making sure the metal gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk in the flat and the fan just moves the hot air around. That is just how life is here in 831005. We’ve seen the seasons change many times and the furnace never really stops. It is a heavy job but someone has to do it. We are just local people trying to make a living and keep the furnaces running day and night.
