Sakchi is a familiar place for anyone who knows Jamshedpur. Our spot is at Sf3-126, over in the Bradwari Supervisors Flat. It’s an older building, but it’s sturdy and does the job for what we need. Living and working here means you're right in the thick of the city's history. We aren't tucked away in some glass tower; we are right where the supervisors stay. The rooms are a bit small, and the stairs can be a climb if you're carrying heavy bags, but it feels like home. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day—scooters buzzing by and people talking downstairs. We spend most of our time at the desks, keeping track of things for Tata Steel Limited. There's always someone popping in with a question or a piece of paper that needs a signature. We try to keep things tidy, but with so much going on, there’s always a bit of clutter. Jamshedpur has its own way of doing things, and we just follow along with that local pace. When the shift ends, the area gets even busier. It’s a practical setup for people who are actually doing the work on the ground. We don't need fancy decorations to get things done. It’s just us, the flats, and the daily grind of making sure everything runs okay. We've been here long enough that the walls feel like they have stories of their own. Sometimes we sit on the steps and just watch the traffic for a minute.
